Piano Instructor
Elizabeth Lin is a native of the Bay Area in Northern California. Starting piano at a young age, she received guidance and instruction from teachers Sandra Shen and Dr. Namiq Sultanov. As she studied privately with these preeminent teachers, she received comprehensive formation in piano technique and began fostering in her a deep love and connection to music. In 2014, she enrolled as a music student at the University of California, Berkeley, and was under the tutelage of Dr. Betty Woo. During her time at UC Berkeley, she was selected to perform in solo noon concerts at Hertz Hall that were open to the public. In the summers of 2015 and 2016, she traveled to Moscow, Russia, and attended the International Summer School program held at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. There, she took masterclasses with Professor Irina Plotnikova and performed in the Myaskovsky Hall as a culmination to the program. Her travels and studies in Moscow were generously supported by the UC Berkeley music department’s scholarship awards, the Mary Nunes Award and Lyon Memorial Prize.
Upon graduating from UC Berkeley in 2017, she continued her studies at Moscow Conservatory under the tutelage of Professor Irina Plotnikova from 2017-2018. In September 2019, she began her postgraduate studies in piano performance at the Royal College of Music in London. During her time in London, she studied privately classical piano with Professor Caterina Grewe, and collaborated with various singers and musicians in performing at various venues in the college. During the summer of 2021, she has completed a Master in Piano Performance.
In her own time, she has also taught music to many students of all levels, preparing them for the RCM exams and competitions. Elizabeth is extremely excited to return to the Bay Area to continue her career in teaching and looks forward to sharing her passion for the piano and classical music to the next generation of music learners!
